Welcome to Sweet Tea Bed & Breakfast, Conover’s only Bed & Breakfast!
Come stay at a beautifully restored historic 103-year-old home in the heart of downtown Conover NC and enjoy a home-cooked southern-style breakfast daily! We are happy to accommodate special dietary requests with advance notice.
We feature local items from the Catawba Valley region, when available and in season. Will accommodate special dietary requests with advance notice.
Each room tastefully decorated to showcase the original 1920’s style yet be comfortable for today’s lifestyle. Home partially furnished with upholstered items created by Catawba Valley Community College’s Furniture Academy and local estate sales.
We have:
- 1 king room (Hickory room)
- 2 queen rooms (Conover room and Newton room)
- 1 room with 2 twin beds (Claremont room).
*Hickory room and Claremont room share a jack & jill bath (perfect for families with children or Ladies retreat). If Hickory room is rented without Claremont room, then the Claremont room is booked as “unavailable” so you will not be required to share the bath. - 32″ flat-screen televisions and Wi-Fi in each bedroom

Downstairs butler’s pantry is open 24 hours daily for guests and equipped with 1 keurig coffee maker, microwave, toaster and small refrigerator (stocked with soft drinks and bottled water).
Conveniently located in the NC foothills within an hour drive from Charlotte, Winston Salem, Asheville, & Boone NC. Easy access to I-40 and Hwy 16.
PLEASE NOTE: We are a small, traditional bed & breakfast that DOES NOT HAVE a 24-hour guest services representative. Our normal office hours for questions is 10am til 6pm. Sweet Tea is a tobacco-free inn. ADA Service animals welcomed. ESA’s are not recognized by the ADA.
As of 2023, room rental rates are $175 per night plus taxes. Discounted rates available for extended business travelers, 1st responders, veterans & MSC guests. Please contact us directly at 704-325-3736 for discount rates.
